Where to report doxxing

Official links for reporting exposed personal information to Google, social platforms, hosting providers and data protection authorities.

Search results

For addresses, phone numbers, IDs and other eligible data, use Google Search Help. Results about you · Google lets eligible users check for some personal information in results. When a source has already changed and Google still shows the old version, use Refresh Outdated Content · Google. Keep the source URL and the search result details.

Social networks and messaging

Websites and hosting providers

If it is safe to contact the website, start with its privacy or abuse contact. For a separate hosting provider, use its official abuse channel and give the exact page URL. ICANN Lookup can help identify the registrar. Cloudflare Abuse describes what Cloudflare can do for different services and how to submit a report. Read the disclosure options before sending details to an intermediary.

Data protection complaints

In Switzerland, see FDPIC / PFPDT / EDÖB. In the EU, use the EDPB directory to find the appropriate authority. France has a dedicated CNIL complaints page, and Spain’s authority is the AEPD. See Doxxing and privacy law: GDPR, DSA and Switzerland and Doxxing removal request template for choosing the correct basis and drafting the request.

Frequently asked questions

Someone posted my home address. Where do I start?

Report the original post to the platform or site operator. If Google displays the address, use its personal information form in parallel. If the post urges people to come to your home, prioritize safety and contact local emergency services.

Can a hosting provider remove content from Google?

A host may be able to act on the original page. Google has a separate process for search results. If the source is already gone but the result remains, use the outdated-content route.

What should I include in a report?

Give each exact URL, the category of private data, its location on the page and a short description of the risk. Keep screenshots private and redact unrelated details.
