How to remove personal information from Google Search
Use the correct Google reporting route for personal data, doxxing, a home address or a result that still shows information removed at the source.
Identify what Google is showing
Save the source page URL and a screenshot of the result. For an image, identify the page where it is published and capture the image or result link requested by the form. Describe what the result reveals and whether the underlying page still contains it.
Choose the right request
- If the material is live and contains eligible private data or doxxing, use Google Search Help. Google evaluates factors including the type of data and the context of publication.
- If eligible, Results about you · Google can help identify certain results that display your personal information.
- If the source has been removed or changed and the result is stale, use Refresh Outdated Content · Google. This route depends on the change already being visible at the source.
Check the result after submitting
Save the case number and review the decision email. You may need a separate request for another URL that reproduces the data. A delisting affects search visibility. To address the original publication, use Where to report doxxing.
What if the same address appears on several websites?
Record and report each source URL separately. A decision on one result may leave copies or separate results visible.
